Why does a sound mixer call "speed" when they press record? What's a frameline and how do I use it? What does the sound department actually do on a movie or TV show? Can I make a living working as a freelance sound mixer? These answers and much more, as Production Sound Mixer Kyle Hupman takes you through the ins and outs of recording sound for video and film.

Prior audio experience is not required but recommended.

Kyle Hupman has been recording sound for commercials, movies, and TV shows in Pittsburgh for the last ten years. He graduated from Point Park University in 2013 with a degree in Cinema and Digital Arts. Kyle has built a reputation as one of the top sound mixers/recordists in the Pittsburgh area. Learn more at
